Faith over Fear

Matthew 17:20 He (Jesus) replied, "Because you have so little faith. Truly I tell you, if you have faith as small a mustard seed you can say to this mountain, 'Move from here to there,' and it will move.  Nothing will be impossible for you."

Deuteronomy 3:22 Do not be afraid of them; the Lord your God himself will fight for you.

Faith over Fear: what does that mean to you?

Faith can mean different things to each of us.  Faith that what someone tells us is the truth, faith that someone will catch us if we fall, faith that E on our gas gage will take us to the next gas station, faith that we know the correct answers to the math quiz.... the list could go on and on forever.

Fear: what are you afraid of?  Failure, rejection, the dark?  Fear can be something as small as spiders or ants or as big as a mountain of chocolate ice cream landing on the hips!

Regardless of your fears one thing is true and that is the source of our fears.  Now you may be asking yourself: how can each of our different fears have the same source when each fear is so different? I mean what comparison is there between a spider and  a snake, fat and cancer, sickness and death?  I'll tell you..... its the source of our fears... that king of lies... the deceiver... the prince of darkness... satan himself!!  You see, when satan can steal our safety, steal our joy, our peace of mind, our security he ultimately steals our faith!!

Faith as small as a mustard seed.  I heard that verse when I was a child and I was amazed!  Have you ever seen a mustard seed?  It's a tiny little thing and God tells me that I only need to have that much faith in Him then nothing will be impossible to me? WOW!!  After hearing this the first thing I asked for from my mom was a necklace with a mustard seed.  I still remember it, gold box with this tiny little seed that hung on a gold chain around my neck... I must of been about 7 years old when she gave it to me. I'm sure it's tucked away in one of my many memory boxes that one day my children will be going through and asking each other "why did mom keep this?"  Maybe one of the grands will want to keep it; hopefully they will know what it is.  That their Noni, as a small child, accepted that faith as small as a mustard seed would see her through all of her walks in life.

Do you have faith as small as a mustard seed?

Will you let satan steal your faith and replace it with fear?

or Will you place your trust in God today and lay all your fears at the foot of the cross and surrender it all to Him?

🎼I surrender all, I surrender all, All to Thee my blessed Savior, I surrender all🎼
